Aviation Internship - Summer 2019 Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority - Reno, NV2.4 14 hours agoFull-time$17 an hour Apply Now Skills * Driver's License The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) is seeking a currently enrolled or recent college graduate to join our team for this summer as in intern! There is one (1) internship available. The internship is full-time (up to 40 hours per week) and will be from June 24, 2019 through August 18, 2019. The RTAA Win/Win Internship Program provides the opportunity for a current college student or recent college graduate to practice and blend their education and training with real-world application in order to gain invaluable aviation industry knowledge and experience. Internships are designed to be an extension of the learning experience that bridges the students' academic pursuits with post-college life. Expectations of the Intern: Available to work the required scheduled for the duration of the internship. Present a positive and professional demeanor and appearance. Willing to ask questions and seek clarification in order to meet the deliverables requested of them. Ability to research information, synthesize its content, and apply information to the task assigned. Ability to communicate effectively, in both oral and written formats. Ability to identify problems, consult with appropriate staff, research circumstances, and develop a recommended course of action to resolve the issue. Prepare and deliver a presentation to the Senior Leadership Team at the RTAA about their internship (e.g., what they did, what they learned, etc.) at the conclusion of the internship. What the Internship Program Offers: Professional Staff at the RTAA will provide subject area expertise mentorship for the duration of the internship. Guidance and coaching to help develop skills necessary for the successful application of academic knowledge to the business world. Constructive performance feedback. Meaningful, real-life projects and/or programs on which to work. Participate in / have exposure to decision making processes. Wage: $16.50 per hour. This is a non-exempt, temporary, at-will internship. There is no expectation or guarantee of continuing employment with the RTAA upon the completion of the internship. Qualifications: Eligibility Criteria: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in good academic standing, OR be a recent college graduate (within last 6 months of application). Must be at least 18 years of age at time of application. Must have a valid driver's license at time of application. Must be able to pass a Drug Screen. Must be able to obtain an Airport Security Badge (which includes a fingerprint criminal history records check and security badging test). Pre-Employment Requirements: The selected candidate will be extended an offer contingent upon the successful completion/passing of a drug-screening test, a fingerprint criminal history records check, and security badging test.
