We are capable of handling large projects involving government entities or multi-year construction and residential projects through the permitting process, assisting with due diligence, assessments, or full geotechnical investigations. We are seeking a self-motivated, driven, and fast learning Geologist or Geotechnical Engineer. Recent Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or Civil Engineering Graduates are encouraged to apply. We plan to train and mentor a new graduate and have them become a critical part of our growing team. You can expect to spend a significant portion of your time both in the field and in the office on projects both large and small, allowing you to broaden your understanding of soil conditions and construction related issues as they relate to geotechnical engineering within our firms National reach. Some travel may be required for projects outside of the vicinity of our office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: As a Staff Engineer/Geologist, you will be responsible for several different aspects of our geotechnical services. Our team works on a variety of residential, commercial, and public development. Depending on your level of experience, you will help to answer clients initial questions, compose proposals, initiate site visits, perform geo-related testing and assessments, and draft reports for clients. Qualifications: * Self-driven, motivated, fast learner with a strong desire to learn engineering skills related to geotechnical engineering * BS degree in Civil Engineering or Geology or current standing as a Junior/ Senior student actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering (or related) Undergraduate or Graduate Program * Strong field orientation and proven problem-solving skills * One year of related experience or internship experience is preferred, but not required * Engineer-In-Training (EIT), Geologist-in-Training (GIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification required or can be obtained within one year * Ability to successfully work within a team, as well as professional-level verbal and written communication skills, are a must! * Valid driver's license Job Types: Full-time, Internship Experience: * Geotechnical/Geology: 1 year (Preferred) Education: * Bachelor's (Preferred) Location: * Portland, OR 97201 (Preferred) License: * Driver's License (Required) Work authorization: * United States (Required) Required travel: * 25% (Preferred) Work Location: * One location * On the road Benefits offered: * Paid time off * Health insurance * Dental insurance * Retirement benefits or accounts * Flexible schedules * Workplace perks such as food/coffee and flexible work schedules
