Sexual Health Equity Scholar Intern San Francisco, CA, USA Program Positions Under the mentorship of Dr. Susan Philip, an undergraduate level Sexual Health Equity Scholar.nbsp; This position will assist with the work of the Chlamydia workgroup, one of four focus areas within the SFDPH Black/African American Health Initiative (BAAHI). The workgroup seeks to improve screening rates for chlamydia in clinical settings and reduce sexual and reproductive health inequities in San Francisco. The essential duties will include attending the workgroup meetings and assisting in the planning for a sexual health youth advisory board and sexual health summit to be held in San Francisco in late 2019. This position may also assist with the current SFDPH activation of the Incident Command Structure (ICS) to respond to increases in syphilis among women in San Francisco. In addition to these duties, scholars may have the opportunity to attend HIV- and sexual health- focused seminars as well as professional development workshops and networking events hosted by CLI and the Summer HIV/AIDS Research Program (SHARP). Clinical shadowing opportunities may be available for interested scholars. All scholars will be asked to participate in health equity scholar program evaluation activities. This is a full-time, temporary (3 months), grant funded and non-benefitted position. Employment is provided by Heluna Health. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience * A high school diploma or GED equivalent. * In good academic standing during the preceding academic year. * For undergraduate scholars: enrolled in an undergraduate or certificate program in a biological, health science or social science field (or intended major) at a U.S. accredited college or university; For graduate student scholars, enrolled in a masters of public health school or program, or related discipline at a U.S. accredited college or university. * Work, volunteer, or life experience working with communities that are highly affected by HIV, or other diseases/health issues.
