Senior Analyst In this position, you will perform complex and professional analytical duties in support of Planning and Community Development, including budget and fee analyses, research projects, and oversight of general office management functions. This position reports to the Director of Planning and Community Development. Essential Job Functions - the basic job duties an employee must be able to perform: Coordinate and participate in organizational studies; identify issues; collect data; analyze alternatives; make recommendations Participate in special projects, including research of new programs and services; prepare and present reports Prepare and oversee department-wide budget; analyze proposed capital, operating, and maintenance expenditures; prepare reports and analyses related to impact of budgetary decisions; prepare multi-year financial forecasts; track and monitor budget expenditures; track and monitor financial assurances and special assessment fees Participate in special projects, including research of new programs and services; implement new systems, methods, and procedures; conduct updates with management staff to inform and advise on project progress; make adjustments as necessary Coordinate activities associated with legal activities in the department; coordinate between the department and other City departments, including the City Attorney's office, Finance, and Public Works Supervise, organize, and review the work of lower level staff Prepare presentations Attend and participate in group meetings We are looking for candidates who demonstrate: Knowledge of budget preparation Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel Excellent communications skills, orally and in writing Ability to stay current on new trends and innovations Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships Successful candidate will have: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in finance, business administration, public administration, or other research-intensive field Five years of full-time professional analytical experience, including budgeting, research, data collection and analyses. Ideal candidates will also have: Experience in a supervisory capacity Office management experience This position requires exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
