Function of Work:
To apply scholastic theory and elementary surveying skills to a variety of tasks involving standard procedures and practices in the field and office in order to acquire practical experience for licensure.
Level of Work:
Close from a Surveyor 5, Engineer 5 or higher or administrative official of the agency served.
Functional supervision may be exercised over Engineering Technicians or personnel engaged in survey work.
Location of Work:
May be used by any state agency.
Differs from Surveyor Intern 1 by responsibility for performing more independently and by the size and scope of assigned work.
Differs from Engineering Technicians by the possession of a Louisiana Land Surveyor Intern certificate and the ability to perform a broader range of surveying principles.
Examples of Work
Assists in the supervision of a survey crew or office crew preparing right-of-way maps.
May supervise the preliminary photogrammetric stereo plotter activities and review work of sub professional engineering personnel.
May supervise a survey crew as party chief for boundary surveys.
May supervise an office crew preparing right-of-way and boundary maps.
