Description

Search Fund/Private Equity Intern Cherry Tree Capital - Boston, MA Full-timeEstimated: $71,000 - $100,000 a year Save Skills * Sales Experience * Web Design * CRM Software * Analysis Skills Company Cherry Tree Capital (CTC) is a type of small, nontraditional private equity firm known as a search fund. We are an investment vehicle through which investors financially support an entrepreneur's effort to locate, acquire, manage and grow a privately held company. Unlike a traditional private equity firm, whose principals typically purchase a number of businesses and hire operators to run them before flipping them for a profit, Cherry Tree Capital will acquire just one business, operate it upon acquisition, and run the business for the long haul. Description We are looking for interns to help manage a multi-stage, high volume deal funnel in the most efficient way possible. Most of the daily work will consist of searching through mountains of data in a number of databases and sourcing deals that match our investment criteria. Work will include: * Interacting with brokers and other intermediaries * Identifying and researching industries of interest * Building and diligently maintaining a CRM database * Exposure to the due diligence and deal negotiation process This is a great opportunity to learn more about and be a part of Search Fund and Private Equity investments. You will be working directly for an MIT Sloan MBA (Stanford undergrad) and exposed to live deals and transactions. I will provide letters of recommendation and introductions to our vast network of contacts (strong connections in the MIT Sloan, HBS, and Stanford networks) to hardworking interns. This will be the second class of interns at CTC. Interns from our first class landed roles in finance at prestigious firms and gotten into top business school programs. If you are looking for a glamorous internship in a formal work environment, this opportunity is not for you. I am operating out of a modest home office in Back Bay and the Boston Public Library while trying to find a more permanent office. I am looking for HUSTLERS who want to learn A LOT and gain exposure to all the major pieces of private equity or search fund investments. You will be given opportunity to advance equivalent to the level of interest and commitment you bring to the opportunity. If you are a student and your school offers course credit for such opportunities, we can work with you to get you course credit. Requirements * No related prior experience is required * Strong analytical abilities and keen interest in business * Someone who is HUNGRY and EAGER and looking to prove him or herself Bonus * Basic coding * Sales/CRM experience * Website design Next Steps If you are interested please send a short paragraph explaining why you want the job and why you think you'd be a good fit for it.
