College Undergraduate Intern or Graduate Student Intern State of New Mexico - Albuquerque, NM3.6 Full-time Save Salary $12.87 - $22.39 Hourly $26,764 - $46,562 Annually This position is a Pay Band 55 Purpose of Position Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date. Why does the job exist? Construction Programs Bureau (CPB) engineering internship would be to bring college student or recent graduate in the civil/environmental engineering field to familiarize them with the programs funded by CPB and how they assist communities throughout New Mexico to build sustainable water and wastewater infrastructure. How does it get done? All work duties will be under the direct supervision of a licensed professional engineer and include: review of project planning documents, review and development of construction cost estimates, review of construction contract drawings, documents and specifications, review of construction change orders and pay applications, attending construction progress meetings and site visits, introduction to National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requirements and review of environmental documents. Who are the customers? This position requires coordinating with various managers, stakeholders including the public, industry, consultants, bureau staff, and other regulatory agencies. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate must have strong technical and mathematical skills, experience, or familiarity with water and wastewater infrastructure development and treatment options. Minimum Qualification Current enrollment in an accredited college or university. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Drivers License. Working Conditions Office setting with routine field work, Occasional walking on rough terrain. Exposure to inclement weather conditions.
