Publicity Intern, Part-Time, Paid, Algonquin Books and Algonquin Young Readers Workman Publishing Company - New York, NY4.8 Part-timeEstimated: $18,000 - $26,000 a year Save Algonquin Books and Algonquin Young Readers is seeking a highly organized, creative, self-motivated, and enthusiastic intern to join the publicity team. This internship offers the opportunity to work on our award-winning and highly curated list of fiction and non-fiction, adult, young adult, and middle grade titles. We publish twenty adult and twelve childrens front list titles and associated paperback reprints per year. Our authors include Tayari Jones, Kelly Barnhill, Lisa Ko, Dan Rather, Nova Ren Suma, B.A. Shapiro, Tracey Baptiste, Gabrielle Zevin, and Andrew McCarthy, among many others. Responsibilities Researching new media contacts and outlets that would be interested in covering our books Writing and compiling press materials, including press releases and praise sheets Updating our database with incoming media coverage Maintaining author itineraries Assisting the social media team with Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram Assisting with administrative tasks, including mailing, photocopying, scanning, etc Qualifications Excellent writing and communication skills Highly organized and detail-oriented Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under deadlines An interest in the publishing industry and a wide variety of books Please be sure to send a cover letter with your resume to kristenb@algonquin.com.
