Internship - Market Research (unpaid) American Diabetes Association - Houston, TX3.8 Part-timeEstimated: $32,000 - $45,000 a year Save Skills * Market Research * Organizational Skills * Proofreading * Analysis Skills Benefits * Flexible Schedule Internship - Market Research (unpaid) - (190000E4) Description The Marketing Research Intern will assist with a variety of concurrent marketing and market research projects for the Association to develop consumer insights and understand market trends. Duties may include (but will not be limited to): Survey programming, analyzing data, preparing graphs and reports, populating and maintaining the electronic research library in Excel, providing support for qualitative research, and performing research of secondary sources as needed. This internship presents the opportunity to contribute to the American Diabetes Association's overall knowledge of the many issues faced by people with diabetes and their health care practitioners. Students will further develop their analytical skills, customer orientation, and knowledge in all aspects of primary research from project inception through analysis and reporting. When you join us, you can expect challenging work assignments in a professional, friendly, business casual atmosphere. This is an unpaid internship, scheduling is flexible and students may work toward school credit/practicum, resume building and experience. The Market Research and Storytelling intern will also work to build out the Associations story bank, which is a collection of personal stories of people with diabetes for use in various marketing and communication initiatives. Duties may include (but will not be limited to): Cataloging stories, maintaining electronic story bank in Excel, pursuing new stories, and augmenting existing stories. Qualifications Current college student Committed to a flexible work schedule at least 15 hours/week, up to 35 hours/week. Can-do attitude with a willingness to learn new skills and knowledge Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and strong organizational skills Course work in marketing, communications, library sciences, and/or research methodology preferred. Students studying social science or public health are encouraged to apply. Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and communication skills. Familiarity with Associated Press (AP) style a plus.
