Summary of Position: The Sales Support Intern will be assisting ThyssenKrupp Materials NA- Copper & Brass Sales Div. with a variety of Sales, Purchasing and Business Development activities. The Intern will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of the Inside Sales and Purchasing teams while learning valuable skills related to manufacturing in the aerospace, medical, electrical, automotive, and oil & gas markets. The Intern is required to work 40 hours per week and report to the Inside Sales Manager. The internship is assigned for 4 months, and is located in Southfield, MI.The Sales Support Team Member will be exposed to: Interaction with Inside Sales, Outside Sales and Purchasing Teams on supply chain activities specific to customer & inventory management Use of business & information solutions including: SAP, Quickbase, Sharepoint, and others Opportunities to be creative, grow professionally and learn outside the classroomKey Accountabilities: Support sales staff with a variety of supply chain related (purchasing and sales) activities Processes reports and paperwork locally as well as to and from corporate offices. Supports management team in performing various analytical projects, including working with spreadsheets, presentation and/or database applications Daily Cost / Pricing analysis for sales orders Attend meetings with team members to learn and understand the business & projects Take on additional duties and responsibilities, as needed.
Qualifications: Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited universityo Junior or Senior academic standing Business, Sales, Marketing, International Business or any degree in the related fieldo 3.0 or higher GPA Applicants should be competitive, assertive, and self-motivated. The ability to think critically, multi-task, and keep up in a fast-paced environment is critical. The ideal candidate will have a passion for public relations and business, and must have strong research and writing skills Good communication and organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Experience with Word, Outlook, and Power Point Strong multi-tasking skills Ability to work independently The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirement for the performance of this job.
