(Position is located 30 minutes from Providence, RI Worcester, MA New London, CT Willimantic, CT)
Seeking full-time and part-time Advocates for our Domestic Violence Program (DVP) located in Danielson, CT Work as part of a team in our 24/7 residential shelter which provides a safe environment to adults and children fleeing domestic violence. You would be a trained certified domestic violence advocate providing individual and group counseling*, *crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy, shelter and hotline coverage. As part of our DVP team you would coordinate services for victims of domestic violence and collaborate with staff to meet their needs. Basic office work such as copying, filing, and organizing material; along with cleaning are required.
Domestic Violence Program: DVP offers services to anyone who is a victim of domestic abuse and provides a diverse array of services including 24/7 emergency shelter, court advocacy assistance, referral and information services, support groups and counseling, case management, recreation, bilingual staff, educational programs for schools and training for professionals throughout Northeastern Connecticut.
Schedule Danielson location:
* Full-time 40 hours per week: Sunday Thursday, 12:30 p.m. 9:00 p.m. May also include flexing and some holidays
* Full-time 40 hours per week: Wednesday Saturday, 8:45 p.m. 7:15 a.m. May also include flexing and some holidays
* Part-time 32 hours per week: Sunday Tuesday, 8:00 p.m. 7:15 a.m. May also including flexing and some holidays
Bachelors Degree in relevant human services field, or Associates Degree plus two years appropriate experience required.
$14.62 $16.54 per hour depending on experience
