Director of Communications
Essential Functions of the position are detailed below, and include any physical requirements below that.1. Responsible for the daily and overall operations of the Communications Department. Develops the strategic communications plan in concert with agency goals to develop messaging and shape public image and brand.2. Manages print and electronic publications, media relations, social media, and the development of communications tools such as videos and web platforms.3. Manages creation of internal and external agency publications, advocacy materials, Keenager News, bulletin announcements/parish communications, web site content, brochures, and event materials.4. Works with Senior Administration and Agency Service Areas and Departments to determine appropriate areas of focus for Communications.5. Responds to all media inquiries and manages crisis and emergency communications.6.P romotes agency events and programs by establishing relationships with the media and writing media releases for major events, including major fund-raisers, program openings and the Annual Meeting.7. Responsible for and/or makes the needed recommendations for the hiring, discipline and performance evaluation of staff. Responsible for coaching, supervising, training and professional development of staff. Responsible for assigning work to staff and ensuring the work is performed in an efficient, prompt, professional and accurate manner and provides guidance when necessary.8. Assesses Department needs and establishes and administers the Communications Department budget.9. Supervises the agency's web site design and maintenance in collaboration with the Management Information Systems Group10. Facilitates the Board of Advisors Marketing and Communications Committees and represents the Communications Department at appropriate administrative meetings.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Relevant Education:Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Degree in Communications, Public Relations, English or related field.Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts
Relevant Experience:Preferred: 10+ Years Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop. Communications experience. Design, photography, and media relations experience. Editorial experience, familiarity with AP style.Minimum: 5-7 Years Communications experience.
An understanding of the Roman Catholic Church, teachings and doctrines is preferred.
