Job Description Workday's Android team is responsible for developing the framework on which other application developers and teams can build on. They are also responsible for building features and SDKs with a much more focused and sophisticated set of widgets than any off-the-shelf library can offer. Innovation is a key part of the Workday culture. We take pride in our ability to think outside the box and come up with brilliant solutions to issues old and new. In this role, you will be leading a talented Android framework engineering team and continue to foster a team dynamic that promotes engineering excellence within our community. You'll also be responsible for promoting innovation, and pushing the boundaries of our application usage, while delivering frequent and high-quality solutions to production. Responsibilities: * You will be coaching and mentoring our engineers so they are empowered to level up their own development and person growth. * You will help set team technical goals and direction that allows us to scale across all our business domains - with a call to action on enablement. * You will help foster a culture of innovation that drives us to deliver the best user experience for our products by empowering your team to own the experience. * You will be constantly optimizing our build, develop and verification processes for higher quality over thousands of merge requests. * You will be managing our scrum process and partner with Product Management and Design to deliver our APK on a monthly basis. Requirements: * You have at least 1 year experience in leading teams and also have a good proven record of performance management and retention of top engineering talent. * You have a proven ability to recruit, build, mentor, performance manage and inspire a world-class team of developers. * You are experienced in shipping Android products, with a deep and current knowledge of the Android development and tooling ecosystem. * You possess a high cognitive ability to be able to decipher the best solutions given business requirements on tight deadlines. * You have been a rockstar developer for over 3 years. * Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or related engineering disciple desired. * You are a constant learner and thrive in a learning culture.
