Internship description: Working with our VP of Engineering, you will be asked to develop software that will help IZEA increase the quality and value of its core software platform. You will write code in Ruby (on Rails) and Javascript (NodeJS) to integrate our core platform with external services and tools that you create. Our team is ego-free and motivated to build great software. We regularly break out into small teams to tackle problems, learn new technologies, or just share what we know with others. We test our code and invest in the health of our systems. We push each other, learn from each other, and strive to continually grow as a team. Were looking for Undergraduate Juniors & Seniors and Graduate-level students who live in Central Florida or who are willing to temporarily relocate for the summer. Best fits are those majoring in or have experience in the following areas: Software Engineering, Computer Science, and Software Development. * Currently recruiting for Summer 2019 (May - August) * All IZEA internships are for-credit-only arrangements * Student must receive academic credit for the internship * Will spend at least 2 days/week (preferably 3 days per week) in the IZEA headquarters, located in Winter Park, FL * NDA paperwork will need to be signed by students Primary responsibilities: You will support our Engineering teams continued work on initiatives including programmatic emails, programmatic content delivery, and/or automation. You will need to make modifications to our core platform, integrate with external services, and work directly with the people who will benefit from using your software. What were looking for: * Problem solver at heart and eager to learn * Interest in Ruby and Ruby on Rails * Interest in Javascript and NodeJS * Excellent verbal and written communications skills Demonstrated experience with the following will be highly valued: * Git and GitHub * Amazon Web Services, or other cloud providers * CSS, HTML, and front-end templating frameworks * Working with RESTful APIs * Sending programmatic emails Why would you want to intern here?
