Social Media Intern International Dyslexia Association - Baltimore, MD4.8 InternshipEstimated: $21,000 - $27,000 a year Save Skills * Marketing * Buffer * Fundraising * Social Media Management INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION The International Dyslexia Association (IDA) Social Media Internship will offer a junior or senior undergraduate student interested in the fields of marketing, communications, PR and fundraising the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and expand their resume. This dynamic creative will work with the IDA Media/Communications team and will have the opportunity to play a key role in the success of IDAs online presence. This internship will provide extensive experience in social media marketing and digital content creation with understanding of the many moving parts related to digital campaign development for a well-known, mission-driven non-profit organization. RESPONSIBILITIES * Assist with managing IDA social networks, including scheduling posts through Buffer * Develop and implement new marketing initiatives and approaches for digital content * Collaborate with departments, branches and global partners on social media promotions * Focus on social media exclusive awareness and fundraising campaigns * Monitor trending posts and Google alerts * Assist with developing campaigns to promote IDA eCommerce sites * Create IDA branded graphics in Canva * Assist with the development of an IDA blog * Monitor reach and engagement of posts KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Understanding of current algorithms on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest * Out-of-the-box thinker with the ability to bring new ideas to existing campaigns * May even be an influencer in their own right * An effective and professional communicator, both oral and written * Highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines * Coursework in marketing, PR, communications or similar field preferred * Design experience is preferred but not required ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/SCHEDULE * Summer 2019; exact dates based on students schedule/needs * Days and hours are flexible but will need to work between business hours 8:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday * The Social Media Intern could be expected to promote IDA events on social media outside of the normal schedule COMPENSATION * The internship is unpaid * Position duration is 12 to 48 weeks * If a student wishes to earn credit/grade, we will serve in a supervisory capacity and complete all necessary paperwork for the student Job Type: Internship Experience: * Social Media Marketing: 1 year (Preferred) Work Location: * One location Save
