The Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County Association Program Coordinator provides coordination and administrative support for a variety of Extension programming, assisting with delivery of educational workshops, trainings and technical assistance across program areas for Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County. The coordinator works as part of a team, collaborating with Association, regional, and professional staff and volunteers under the supervision of the Association Administrator. Required Qualifications: Associate's Degree and one year experience. GED/High School Diploma and two years transferrable program/functional experience is acceptable. Experience related to the role of the position. Ability to speak in public. Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position. Ability to meet acceptable background check standards. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and/or weekends. Ability to communicate effectively through oral, written, and visual channels using traditional tools and methods, as well as electronic technology (e.g., video, audio, computers, etc.). Detail-oriented. Ability to follow procedures and written instructions. Must demonstrate a high degree of integrity, sound professional judgment and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information. Demonstrated proficiency with multiple windows-based software and hardware technologies including Microsoft products such as, but not limited to, Outlook, Access, Word, Excel. Experience in using social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and QR code generating in a professional setting for PR and marketing purposes. Ability to work independently, organize workload, handle administrative detail, work under pressure and establish priorities according to Association requirements. Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude and appearance. Maintain a positive public image of CCE when dealing with the media, public, clients, staff, volunteers and committee members. Ability to initiate, plan, organize, implement, teach, and evaluate informal educational programs. Ability to effectively participate in professional team efforts. Ability and willingness to work with diverse audiences and maintain cultural sensitivity. Ability to identify and utilize program resources from the organization and the community. Ability to relate effectively to co-workers, advisors, community and professional leaders. Ability to plan and organize personal work responsibilities according to priorities developed with the immediate supervisor. Preferred Qualifications: Coursework in education. Experience with Cooperative Extension or other similar educational organizations. Experience in directing and collaborating with volunteers. Ability to identify and develop volunteer leadership. Spanish or Yiddish speaking, experience and/or training in other languages an asset. Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Program Responsibilities: Program Delivery - 10% Deliver existing educational programs across program areas. Provide technical assistance to constituents based on established program materials. Utilize a variety of educational methods which may include direct teaching, group experiences, media, newsletters, electronic technology, internet, and distance learning to promote and deliver program. Administrative Responsibilities: Direction - 5% May provide input to program leaders to assist in planning the delivery of established programs. Assist in allocating program budget amounts to support program implementation. Assist in developing communication strategies to support program implementation. Management - 5% May give guidance to volunteers and staff. May support volunteer recruitment and involvement. May perform management tasks for implementation of budget and/or communication strategies. Coordination - 75% Connect staff and clientele, including schools, agencies, producers, consumers, and other groups (as identified) with relevant resources in response to inquiries across program areas. Compile existing resources into education program materials for workshops, tip and fact sheets, newsletters. Implement established program schedule (workshops, series, discussion groups, farm visits, outreach, reminder, and follow up calls, soil testing) Collect evaluation data and applied research data from program participants based on existing framework. Coordinate program implementation efforts, planning, and activities for the delivery of workshops, outreach, and activities as aligned with the CCE Sullivan Plan of Work. Transport self and materials to program delivery sites. Provide information as requested to assist with preparation of reports, impact statements, and success stories on program progress and accomplishments for funders, advisory committees, Board and others as necessary. Implement routine communication and marketing tasks to support Association program outreach as directed by communications manager including, annual reports, newsletters, legislative updates, social media communications (Facebook, Twitter, and Website), press releases, public relations and event marketing using established materials. Assist communications manager with marketing/relations for Association wide fundraising activities. Support educator staff with preparation of program brochures and fliers as well as general Association brochures and displays with supervisor guidance. Act as marketing resource for staff. Maintain Association exhibits and displays so they are ready and accessible for program staff. May represent the Association at community events such as promotions, fairs, etc. Establish and maintain a network of media and marketing contacts that are kept informed of CCE programs and events. In coordination with staff, respond to general requests for information about CCE programs, activities and grants in the community. Refer complex inquiries to communications manager or program leaders. Professional Improvement - 5% In cooperation with Supervisor and/or Executive Director, jointly develop and pursue a professional development plan as a means to increase competencies relative to position accountabilities and to address changes and Association priorities. Collaborate in activities that are in general support of Cornell Cooperative Extension and perform other duties as assigned. Health and Safety - Applied to all duties and functions. Support the Association to maintain a safe working environment. Be familiar with and strive to follow any applicable federal, state, local regulations, Association health and safety policy/procedure/requirement and standard. This is a full time, 37.5 hours per week, non-exempt, benefits eligible position. Compensation paid at the rate of $15.00 per hour.
