US Water is looking for a temporary Summer Intern to assist Lab Technicians with various projects in the Corporate Analytical Laboratory. We are looking for an individual who has strong work ethic, focusing on quality and teamwork. Work hours are Monday-Friday 8-5.
Sample preparation, dilutions, and titrations in a chemical laboratory Conduct routine chemical testing such as pH, conductivity, and colorimetry testing on water and chemical samples Calibrate equipment, make observations, record data, and interpret test results Clean metal corrosion coupons using cleaners or acids and determine weight loss. Photograph coupons before & after cleaning. General lab duties such as glassware cleaning, organizing, pouring, and labeling chemicals Weigh & mix product samples containing water or solvent based chemicals. Accurately compile data, organize information, and perform simple mathematical calculations.
2 years of College in a technical field such as Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or other similar program. Physical and Mental requirements Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds of force frequently. Required to stand for sustained periods of time. Using hands and fingers to grasp, move, and assemble objects and control testing equipment.
