Marketing Research Analyst Intern Develop or apply mathematical or statistical theory and methods to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize numerical data to provide usable information. Specialize in fields business statistics, and economic statistics. Identify relationships and trends in data, as well as any factors that could affect the results of research. Responsibilities: * Identify relationships in data, as well as any factors that could affect the results of research. Conduct Factor analysis, ANOVA, Multivariate regression analysis, Cluster analysis in SPSS Syntax to solve specific NPS and consumer segmentation problems * Develop an understanding of fields to which statistical methods are to be applied to determine whether methods and results are appropriate. Adapt statistical methods to predict the sales trend. Develop programming for statistical modeling and graphic analysis. Based on the historical sales data, programing ARIMA time series model to forecast and graph the sales trend by R * Predict each consumer segments next phone purchase brand by Python Programming Machine Learning (OneR - Decision Tree) and SPSS Logistic Analysis * Report results of statistical analyses, including information in the form of graphs, charts, and tables. For example, establish dashboard in Tableau and Excel, and then collaborate those graphs and charts into PPT for report delivering * Prepare data for processing by organizing information, checking for inaccuracies, and adjusting and weighting the raw data * Develop clear and impactful visualizations of analytical insights to convey complicated data in a straightforward fashion in Tableau. For example, formulate positioning map based on multi dimensions, including product score, price, specifications and brand equity index etc., by extracting dataset from data warehouse (SQL) * Develop and test experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods. Plan data collection methods for specific projects and determine the types and sizes of sample groups to be used. For example, by designing product/consumer testing research project, we collected text data by qualitative research (in-depth interview/ focus group); and collected statistical data by quantitative research (design questionnaire, allocate questionnaire, Simple random sampling and quota sampling, monitor data collection). SAS Enterprise Miner will be used to conduct text mining; Python and Tableau will be used for data modeling and analysis * Evaluate the statistical methods and procedures used to obtain data to ensure validity, applicability, efficiency, and accuracy * Design research projects that apply valid scientific techniques and use information obtained from baselines or historical data to structure uncompromised and efficient analyses * Present statistical and nonstatistical results, using charts, bullets, and graphs, in meetings or conferences to clients and internal management team to help decision making * Evaluate sources of information to determine any limitations, in terms of reliability or usability * Apply sampling techniques (including quota sampling, multi-stage sampling, simple random sampling) or use complete enumeration bases to determine and define groups to be surveyed * Examine theories, such as those of probability and inference, to discover mathematical bases for new or improved methods of obtaining and evaluating numerical data Job Requirements: * Bachelors degree in STEM, Business, or a quantitative discipline preferred; Masters degree in Business Analytics/Intelligence, Marketing Research, Computer Science, Big Data or related fields are desired * Extensive course work or practical "work world experience in Quantitative Market Research, Statistical Modeling, Multivariate Data Analysis and Machine Learning preferably for markets of consumer electronics products and or telecommunications services or products * Using mathematics (supervised multi-variate and time-series models) to solve problems * Track record of driving change in business through analysis * Essential experience in building models in MS Excel, SPSS to present business results * Previous experience analyzing across multiple disparate datasets * Expert in MS Excel and proficient in SQL, R and other similar tools, Python and other Big Data manipulation experience preferred * Strong visualization skills (Tableau preferred) are required as is the ability to develop clear and impactful visualizations of analytical insights to convey complicated data in a straightforward fashion * Excellent communication skills and presentation skills * Experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches * Collaborative and results oriented ZTE (USA), Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to a diverse and talented workforce.
