Are you curious to learn how your love for video production or film can be applied to a career in marketing? Would you like to find out if working at a not-for-profit is right for you? Do you want to know how to build a future in the travel industry? Learn all that and more during this semester-long internship at Road Scholar! Objectives: During this internship, youll hone your filming and editing skills as you learn how to create and edit videos to tell a brand story for a targeted demographic and to engage existing customers. Youll gain a stronger understanding of the video production process in a marketing context and environment and learn the nuances of client-relations. Youll also strengthen your problem-solving skills as you practice thinking on your feet in dynamic filming and editing scenarios. Potential Tasks and Projects: * Booking shoots (cross-departmental communication) * Managing photographer contracts * Shooting and editing video * Updating existing videos for social media platforms * Procuring and editing video captions * Researching photo and video storage solutions Required Education, Experience and Competencies: * Junior or Senior at an accredited college or university * Required: knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe photo and video software (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, Audition) * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with good grammar * Ability to problem solve and improvise with limited resources * Productive, self-motivated, organized and able to handle diverse workload a high-paced environment * A willingness to learn and an enthusiasm to help wherever they can * A passion for storytelling * Understanding of video and audio recording concepts and ability to shoot and edit video and photos * Preferred: majoring in media arts, video production, film, photography, marketing or another related field Internship Details This internship runs for 16-20 weeks during the fall semester, between September 2019 and December 2019, subject to the students school schedule. 20 hours/week with flexible weekly schedule. Stipend is paid at 50% halfway through the internship and the other 50% after successful completion of the internship. College credit where applicable.
