DEVELOPMENT CHEMIST - POWDER R & D 1st Shift The Development Chemist - Powder is responsible for a variety of powder processes including formulating and testing coatings. DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Responsible for formulation and design of powder coatings to be marketed in the future Supports current formulation adjustments Reviews and tests raw materials Responsible for quality parameters, documenting and updating records Other duties as assigned ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Education level strongly preferred: College degree in Chemistry or related field One to three years' experience preferred in a manufacturing or industrial setting, preferably in coatings or chemical environment Excellent mathematical skills Excellent computer skills Ability to handle multiple projects at one time Excellent communication skills Willing to work in a team environment Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear, stand and/or walk, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects or controls and move from place to place. The employee is regularly required to sit, balance, stoop, and occasionally reach above shoulders. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. Personal Protection Equipment is required during various processes in the lab area.
