Intern, Public Relations - Part-Time SiriusXM - New York, NY3.6 Part-timeEstimated: $26,000 - $34,000 a year Save Skills * Excel * Project Management * Microsoft Powerpoint * Microsoft Access Position Type: Internship Session: Fall 2019 (September 16 - December 6, 2019) Location: New York, NY Position Summary: SiriusXM interns don't make coffee. They're on-air, on projects and making valuable contributions to SiriusXM. Join our internship program and learn about the radio world and get hands-on experience in your field of study. Duties and Responsibilities: Support all members of the PR/communications staff. Learn to develop and implement publicity strategies for SiriusXM's programming and products. Learn to create various press materials including writing press releases and media alerts. Assist in creating and distributing press materials. Monitor programming for possible press opportunities. Support staff members as they fulfill daily media inquiries. Update and organize SiriusXM's media contacts and distribution lists. Research outlets for new PR opportunities. Track SiriusXM's mentions in various press outlets. Assemble press clip packs to show the reach of SiriusXM's publicity efforts. Learn to plan and manage press events. Work closely with SiriusXM talent relations when interacting with guests and talent. Perform other duties as required. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Minimum Qualifications: You must be 18 years of age or older. Must be enrolled in a college, university or trade school to qualify. Students who have completed at least two years of college are preferred. Current or previous enrollment in communications or public relations classes preferred. Prior internship or working experience in PR preferred. Requirements and General Skills: Good project management and planning skills. Good personnel management skills. Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to pay attention to details. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects. Familiar with SiriusXM Programming. Must have legal right to work in the U.S. Technical Skills: Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Please note all SiriusXM internships are paid.
