Georgia-Pacific Consumer Business aims to further strengthen the Consumer Knowledge and Analytics organization through the addition of a Shopper Knowledge Manager, based in Atlanta, Ga. The Consumer Business within Georgia-Pacific focuses on building iconic American brands with consumers, shoppers and retail customers. Our brands include Dixie, Vanity Fair, Brawny, Sparkle, Angel Soft, and Quilted Northern. We are also the largest provider of Customer Brands (aka Private Labels) in the household paper sector. The Shopper Knowledge capability is essential to our Consumer Business as it seeks to accelerate the creation and integration of shopper insights that enable category and brand building across the path to purchase with shoppers and with business partners at key retailers. Shopper Knowledge is integrated into the Consumer Knowledge team and is part of our broader Consumer Knowledge and Analytics capabilities, which also includes retail testing and analytics, commercial strategy and analytics, innovation and rapid experimentation, data and decision science, DTC analytics, and monitoring and compliance. We are currently seeking a Shopper Knowledge Manager to join this team, supporting our partnership across major channels including Grocery, Mass, and/or Dollar Channels. A Day In The Life Typically Includes: Uncover and represent the shopper perspective in business decisions related to distribution, shelving, merchandising, price/promotion, and shopper marketing programs Initiate, lead and oversee the planning, development, and activation of shopper insights for our categories and brands in aforementioned channels, including foundational insight needs form an internal organization perspective Partner closely with shopper marketing, sales, category management, category development, and brand teams to effectively deploy these insights, along with sound recommendations to support business decisions and experiments Driving strong partnerships and thought leadership with key stakeholders both internally and externally Actively stay current with the evolving shopper landscape, particularly the increasing role of new channels and technology in the shopping experience, and drive associated insights to help achieve a competitive advantage What You Will Need: Basic Qualifications: B.S. degree in Business, Market Research, Marketing or the Social Sciences 4+ years market research experience Strong capability in qualitative and quantitative research planning, execution and activation Working knowledge of syndicated point-of-sale data (IRI/Nielsen) Desire to take initiative with a willingness to learn and share knowledge What Will Put You Ahead? Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree Work experience in a Tier 1 retail CPG environment Understanding of the sales function and how they interact with external stakeholders Constant curiosity about what motivates our shoppers decisions wherever and however they choose to shop Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Ability to quickly and effectively build connections with retail partners, GP Sales teams supporting those retailers, and Shopper Marketing team based in Atlanta Ability to travel up to 30% Connect the dots from multiple primary and syndicated sources to address business issues Provide ongoing consultation to GP teams to fully explore issues, knowledge gaps and opportunities, and to drive actions from the insights Ability to leverage advances in data and technology in research execution Courage to conduct all affairs with integrity and strive for full compliance with laws and regulations Operate like a principled entrepreneur, who takes initiative, applies economic thinking and good judgment, operates with a sense of urgency and takes responsibility Act with humility and respect Ability to effectively communicate with senior management (customer and internal) Demonstrated ability to translate business questions into appropriate research design High skill level at executing primary research Strong communication and collaboration skills Develop compelling stories and actionable insights from large data sets, both structured and non-structured Ability to handle multiple projects/work streams concurrently High level of proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint Why Work For GP?
