Quality Control Inspector / 3rd shift
HANOVER FOODS CORPORATION QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR C / Canning Plant 3 rd shift We are currently seeking an individual to fill the position of QC inspector c on third shift. This position is responsible for evaluating sanitation and GMPs, line audits, and product quality. Good communication skills and basic math skills are required. Prior experience in a quality control function would be helpful. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: Performs a variety of functions in the plant and/or laboratory to locate report and initiate action to correct factors that affect product quality, plant sanitation and housekeeping. Check continuously for problems that may occur during production regarding the quality of the product or its container; record and report same to Production and Quality Control management. Work in close association with USDA Inspectors and be as cooperative as possible at all times. Work in close cooperation with Production and Warehousing personnel to assure proper placement and correct assignments of quality of product. Observe and report to Quality Control management on the effectiveness of cleanup with the manufacturing areas, pointing out specific problem areas in a timely manner. Take required action to maintain good housekeeping and overall appearance of plant labs. Know where quality standards and product specifications are listed and apply same where needed. Draw samples during production for cutting bees, mold count, customer programs or co-pack plans, as required. Standardize PH meters daily and keep appropriate logs Check and record values for chlorination levels on dry bean transport water. Check the color on the Hunter Colorimeter for all tomato base grade samples. Grade seasonal incoming raw product as required. Responsible for execution of food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMPs, food safety, product quality, food security, etc. Perform other related assignments as required by the Quality Control Supervisor.
