Access Supervisor (Assistant Departmental Supervisor) Little Rock , AR 72215 Overview The Access Supervisor oversees the day to day activities of clinic access staff. This position will facilitates the operations of assigned work-flows for scheduling, registration, and authorizations. The Access Supervisor will work closely with the manager to make continuous process improvements to meet revenue cycle operational goals. This position will assist with the testing, managing and/or monitoring of workflows within UAMS electronic systems to insure maximum productivity. This position assumes responsibility of manager during the absence of manager, educates staff on scheduling requirements and physician templates, payer requirements and government rules and regulations required for compliance and customer service. They will also perform regular audits to insure productivity, quality and compliance. The Access Supervisor provides report of findings and works with administrative team to develop corrective action plans and displays exceptional leadership, supervisory, communication and interpersonal skills. UAMS offers amazing benefits and perks: * Health: Medical, Dental and Vision plans available for staff and family * Holiday, Vacation and Sick Leave * Education discount for staff and dependents (undergraduate only) * Retirement: Up to 10% matched contribution from UAMS * Basic Life Insurance up to $50,000 * Career Training and Educational Opportunities * Merchant Discounts * Concierge prescription delivery on the main campus when using UAMS pharmacy Salary is based on experience Responsibilities Supervisory * Supervises department staff by monitoring activities and productivity daily and takes appropriate action to insure staff consistently meets performance standards. * Seeks out continuing education of regulatory changes and industry standards and ensures information is provided to staff timely and concisely in order to maintain accuracy of department activities. * Maintains appropriate staffing levels based on workload. * Documents personnel issues and promotes a balanced & conducive work environment. * Establishes and maintains performance standards for productivity, quality and compliance. * Implements process improvements and reports results. * Adheres to UAMS, department and NAHAM standards for professional practice and code of conduct. * Ensures staff is educated and conducts themselves in the performance of all duties. * Demonstrates knowledge of individual responsibility and ensures staff preparedness following established Joint Commission standards and facility safety and emergency preparedness standards. Budget/Contracts * Processes purchase requisitions and travel requests and trouble-shoots invoicing, purchasing, and reimbursement issues. * Processes contract billing, including staff hours worked, equipment purchases as well as individual outside contract payments. * Reports concerns to the Program Manager. Human Resources * Conducts interviews, assist in making hiring decisions, implements progressive discipline as needed, and enforces institutional compliance requirements. * Keeps up with job descriptions and changes those as needed and evaluates job performance of staff. Manages the onboarding process for new staff. * Works in conjunction with the Office Manager to facilitate all HR functions within the Clinic. * Assist in communications regarding employee health, benefits, FMLA, etc. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in General Business, Business Management or related field plus 3 years supervisory experience OR * High School diploma/GED plus 7 years supervisory experience required. * Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in Registration and billing * Experience in clinical setting. This position is subject to a pre-employment criminal background check.
