The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) is offering a Fall Internship to a qualified candidate who will support Office of the Executive Director. This paid Internship is a part-time temporary employment opportunity averaging 20-24 hours per week for a postgraduate student. PCORI does not provide housing for out of town residents. Pay Range and Employment Status:
Interns shall be classified as temporary, part-time employees who are hired as interim replacements, to temporarily supplement the workforce, or to assist in the completion of a specific project and who are temporarily scheduled to work less than PCORI's full-time schedule for a limited duration. Employment beyond any initially stated period does not in any way imply a change in employment status. Temporary, part-time workers are not eligible for PCORI benefits.
Current master's level and above students will be paid $20.00 per hour.
The intern in the Office of the Executive Director will assist in data collection, analysis, and visualization for a presentation on the time it takes for PCORI-funded trials to publish results and early analysis of the time it takes for uptake of research findings. The intern will also help with analysis for the Dashboard end-of-year analyses, uptake of results from Methods awards, and may assist on other projects as needed. The analyses may be presented to PCORI leadership, the Board of Governors, and/or the Research Transformation Committee.

The ideal intern candidate should have an interest in how an organization implements strategic imperatives, sets goals, and conducts ongoing evaluations.
These projects will require a candidate with experience in both basic data analysis and communication to diverse audiences. Data analysis in this role will require skills in data visualization and basic statistics. Prefer candidates with Microsoft Excel proficiency; more advanced statistical analysis is not required.
Strong project management skills, including demonstrated ability to think independently, to be flexible and to attend to multiple priorities. Successful candidate will have experience conducting web searches; synthesizing and translating complicated material into clear and simple language; and recommending actions based on findings. Strong communication skills are critical to this position.
Knowledge of descriptive analyses of distributions and variation (e.g., presenting means, quartiles, proportions, etc); basic hypothesis testing analyses (comparisons of means and proportions; presentations of correlations) required. Knowledge of evaluation principles and methods preferred.
