Essential Job Functions Collaborate with managers and staff to support the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk's goals and special projects. You will be able to advance your skills in an intimate team oriented atmosphere. Collaborate with experienced team members who want to see you succeed. Your duties will include, but are not limited to: Prepare layouts of reports, booklets, pamphlets, and various productions requiring a knowledge of composition, production techniques, and a variety of styles and media; develop appropriate artistic format consistent with the message of the materials and the target audience of the communities across Los Angeles County Consult with clients requesting artwork to clarify and discuss requests and contribute with problem solving approaches, methods of production, production requirements, and budgetary and time limitations Create and coordinate the construction and installation of large indoor and outdoor, two and three-dimensional exhibits and displays, and produce a variety of display and visual aid materials such as meeting and conference signs, public information posters, models, educational slides, and charts Research data in order to select a design as an effective pictorial or graphic presentation of the data or subject to be publicized Produce work such as various signs, bulletins, and manuals Design and produce, under technical supervision, brochures, displays and posters requiring a detailed knowledge of design, typography, paper stock and printing processes and techniques Prioritize and display the content of departmental publications, and makes editorial and format suggestions to improve and clarify the text Supervise subordinate positions and exercise limited functional supervision over others contributing work, as needed Requirements Selection Requirements: Four (4) years of full-time* commercial art** work experience in the design and production of graphic presentations, publications, exhibits, and displays. Physical Class: 2 - Light: Light physical effort which may include occasional light lifting to a 10 pound limit, and some bending, stooping or squatting. Considerable walking may be involved. Desirable Qualification: A Bachelor's degree*** from an accredited**** college or university Work experience creating nonpartisan graphic concepts for large-scale election awareness media campaigns Additional credit will be given to qualified applicants who possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and work experience creating nonpartisan graphic concepts for large-scale election awareness media campaigns. Special Requirement Information: *Full-time experience is evaluated on the basis of a verifiable 40-hour workweek. **Commercial art is defined as art used to promote sale or acceptance of products, services or ideas. ***In order to receive credit for the degree, you must attach or upload a legible copy of your official diploma, official transcripts, foreign degree evaluation, or official letter from the accredited institution which shows the area of specialization to your application at the time of filing. Additional Information Examination Content: This examination will consist of an evaluation of training and experience based upon application information and supplemental questionnaire, weighted 100%.
