Intern - Data Analyst New York, New York - USD Full Time Posted: Friday, 5 July 2019 Job Location: United States : New York : New York Key Responsibilities: The Intern will learn about MetLife business processes, Internal Audit function and data analytics techniques to support and conduct data analysis for audits and related projects. He/She will these skills, along with business knowledge to assess business processes through the collection, validation and analysis of data from a variety of sources to provide valuable risk insights. Support and fulfill data analytics requests by auditors to address their specific needs, including data extractions using various Business Intelligence tools and programming software Support performance of data analytics using data preparation, analysis and visualization tools and advanced analytics techniques based on project requirements Support preparation of documentation of the analytics procedures and outliers to meet quality standards Support design and development of automated solutions for targeted processes including Internal Audit Robotics Process Automation (RPA) Support the maintenance and improvement of the data analytics environment/infrastructure Experiences, Skills & Qualifications: Required Qualifications Junior or Senior college grade level, studying in the fields of: Computer Science, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems or related fields of expertise Preferred Skills Strong project/task management skills to ensure the effective and timely completion of assignments; Proactive and collaborative style in a team environment, with strong oral and written communication skills that is focused on quality and transparency Understanding of the different analytics techniques (Descriptive, Diagnostic, Continuous and Predictive) and concepts Experience in using/scripting with analytics tools and reporting development Knowledge of RDBMS (particularly MS SQL) with strong SQL (queries, stored procedures etc) and MS SSIS for ETL Knowledge of Microsoft technology including Windows Server, Active Directory, and PowerShell scripting Demonstrates strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities At MetLife, were leading the global transformation of an industry weve long defined.
