Job Overview/Summary The IT department supports the organizations work by providing reliable and scalable applications and infrastructure of the IRCs offices in the US and around the world. An integral component of this effort is ensuring users have the knowledge and resources needed to utilize our business systems effectively and stay up to date on IT policies and information security best practices. The IT Communications Intern will work closely with the IT Communications Officer to provide global communications support for information security awareness and general IT announcements, develop data analysis tools for reporting on key information security training, initiatives, and incident response, as well as assist in the documentation of communications policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a background in information systems, possess exceptional knowledge/interest in information security, working knowledge of markup, programming, and structured query languages, and strong research skills. Major Responsibilities Conduct data analysis and generate insights on key IT communications and awareness initiatives. Develop presentations and present analytics to IT team members. Stay current on cyber trends to share communications and updates as needed. Develop and maintain content on the IRCs global intranet. Develop and maintain process documentation for essential software and platforms. Conduct project-related research as needed. Key Working Relationships Position Reports to: IT Communications Officer Position directly supervises: N/A Indirect Reporting: Deputy Director, IT Training & Communications, Chief Information Security Officer Other Internal and/or external contacts: Internal: Business Relationship Management team Information Security team Subject Matter Experts across other departments External: N/A Learning Outcomes Development of skills necessary to perform Real Time evaluation and assessment of global, corporate communications. Experience in the development and/or execution of corporate cybersecurity incident response and communications strategies. Development of data acquisition and analytics skills, in particular, extract-transform-load (ETL) processes from third-party APIs, internal information resources, etc. Experience in the development of business process documentation and corporate communications templates. Education Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate Program Pursuing a BS, degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Data Analysis or related technical field. Required Skills Knowledge/significant interest in information security and cyber intelligence. Working knowledge of Python programming language (especially NumPy and Pandas libraries). Working knowledge of HTML and CSS. Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Experience with reporting metrics and marketing tools (eg Bananatag, MailChimp). Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills. Preferred Additional Skills Experience with Content Management Systems (eg SharePoint or Interact). Experience with Learning Management Systems (eg Moodle or Schoology). Working knowledge of Adobe Creative suite (eg Photoshop, InDesign). Fluency in French or Arabic a plus! Entry-level IT certifications a plus!
