JOB DESCRIPTION This is a key position within the Corp Tax Department. You will have exposures to various U.S. tax issues related to the operations of a U.S. based multi-national corporation. A Day in the Life The intern is primarily responsible for assisting the Domestic Compliance Tax Dept with federal and some state income tax compliance, inactive returns and support for various projects and filings. Primary responsibilities: Gather and analyze data, perform computations and prepare work papers for tax returns and tax provisions, and prepare federal and state corporate income tax estimates, extensions, and returns for a diverse group of corporations conducting multi-national operations. Work with various tax, business and accounting personnel throughout the company to obtain and analyze data needed for tax compliance. Develop knowledge of federal and state income tax laws, regulations, and current developments. Research income tax compliance-related matters. Develop an understanding of the structure, functionality and reporting capabilities of the corporate general ledger system and key tax software applications. What we are looking for A candidate in the third or fourth year of a Bachelors Degree in Accounting (or similar field) is preferred. Prior professional internship experience within tax or accounting is helpful. Basic knowledge of federal and state income tax laws and regulations is highly desired. Candidates must be hard working, self-starters, performance-oriented and able to meet the demands of a diverse business environment in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner. Proven problem solving skills Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Excellent analytical and organization skills are essential. Attention to detail is a must. Candidates must possess strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office. P roficiency in Excel preferred. Additional Details: The approximate dates of this internship are September 2019 through January 2020. Candidate must be available to work part time (approximately 20 hours per week) for the duration of the internship.
