This position will assist the Director of Sports Nutrition and Assistant Director of Sports Nutrition in providing nutrition services to select Rutgers intercollegiate sports teams, primarily football. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Managing assigned teams. Providing team educations. Creating educational materials. Planning game day and travel nutrition. Restocking assigned fueling stations. Assisting in the management of student volunteers/workers. Conducting grocery-store tours. Creating nutritional plans. Analyzing data for student-athletes. Assisting in the opening of our new fueling station and training table space in the new Athletic Performance Center opening July 2019. Acting as an additional nutrition resource for coaches, athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, and other staff as needed. Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week 40 Daily Work Shift FLSA Nonexempt Position Salary $10.00-15.00/hr Payroll Designation PeopleSoft Terms of Appointment Temporary Staff Appointment - Hourly Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requires a Bachelors degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Requires up to two years relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy. Preferred Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Volunteer or paid experience within a sports nutrition atmosphere required. Hold active status through the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Strong communication, organization, creativity, problem solving, critical thinking, and time management skills needed. Ability to work a non-standard workweek, including early mornings, late nights, some weekends and holidays may be required. Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher). Basic knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations. Equipment Utilized Physical Demands and Work Environment Special Conditions This position is intended for individuals working towards the CSSD pathway. This is a 6 month appointment expected to end mid January 2020.
