Role Summary Mavenir is looking for passionate and self-motived Intern engineers within its Packet Core division to specify and drive research and development of Web-Scale 5G Packet Core products based on its innovative virtualized platform for small cells and macro deployments. This is a great opportunity to work closely with R&D team and leverage your analytical skill to the future of cellular systems. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in research and development, familiarity with 3GPP 5G standards, Web-Scale Applications, Open Source Solutions and a passion for influencing development for a disruptive product and solution in a competitive marketplace. This is a full-time, summer internship beginning approximately late May/June and ending in August Key Responsibilities Analyze and develop Web-Scale 5GC Applications in C++ / JAVA / GO languages. Research and Create proof of concept design, develop and validate against requirements. Present the results of POCs / Research to broader system engineering and research & development teams. Integrate and Validate 5GC Applications hosted in Kubernetes-orchestrated Private / Public Cloud Infrastructure. Job Requirements Pursuing MS/BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. Ph.D. Candidate is a plus. Familiarity with 3GPP 5G Core Network standards Familiarity with Web-Scale application development and deployment ecosystem. Excellent inter-personal skills. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to new technologies and concepts. Specific areas of knowledge may include: Docker containers deployed in Kubernetes environment. Domain Driven design based Micro Services development. Message Oriented Middleware like Kafka, MQ Series, etc. Service Mesh technologies like Istio-Envoy / Linkerd. Cloud Native application deployment in Private / Public Cloud ( AWS, Azure, GCP). Distributed data base technologies like Cassandra, Elastic Search, Couch Base, etc. CI / CD tools and concepts.
