Public Relations Intern County of Passaic - Clifton, NJ InternshipEstimated: $20,000 - $27,000 a year Save Skills * Computer Skills Overview: The County of Passaic is seeking a Public Relations intern to support the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs (DCHA). The intern will work directly with the Heritage Tourism Coordinator at the Westervelt-Vanderhoef House in Clifton, NJ. The position requires availability of about twenty (20) hours per week and will last approximately three to six (3-6) months. This is a non-paid internship. Candidates may receive academic credit for the position. Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs: The DCHA creates and maintains a flourishing cultural landscape throughout Passaic County. As the designated proponent for the Countys heritage and the agent for arts and history programming, the DCHA is responsible for developing, promoting, and implementing an extensive public programs calendar and a heritage tourism campaign to encourage public awareness and participation in the Countys various historic sites. Responsibilities: * Support the DCHAs public relations and communication efforts * Draft press materials * Conduct various forms of research * Contribute to social media content creation and measurement * Provide administrative support * Build and update media lists and databases * Assist in event management * Contribute to brainstorm sessions * Perform other related duties as needed Qualifications: * Organized, creative, and self-motivated * Interested in History and Art * Enrolled in a Public Relations or related program with an accredited college or university * Previous internship experience is a plus * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Passionate about Passaic County heritage and tourism * Proficient computer skills * Social media and photography skill are a plus * New Jersey residency required Job Type: Internship Additional Compensation: * Other forms Work Location: * One location Internship Compensation: * College Credit Save
