Get facts about other applicants with a CareerBuilder Account Sign Up Job Description The associate director for internships will collaborate with the director of Experiential Learning (EL) to: (1) support faculty across campus in creating and delivering high quality academic internships; (2) ensure that all UCF students have access to cutting-edge, well-supervised and educationally enriching experiences; and (3) assist business and community partners seeking to support the education of UCF students by providing high quality internship and cooperative education positions. The associate director is expected to oversee the daily operation of ELs internship program, ensuring unit, division and university policies are properly followed; making use of systems necessary to create, post, fill and evaluate internship positions. Supervise faculty coordinators to ensure proper delivery of internships. Will oversee faculty interactions with students while advising, instructing or otherwise supporting UCF students; oversee employers to create new internship opportunities for UCF students; and oversee academic programs to support the development of internship opportunities for students at all academic levels. Oversee the design and delivery of EL-sponsored events related to internships. Job Requirements Jobs #: 497557 Open Date: June 14, 2019 Closing Date: July 11, 2019 Salary: Negotiable Position Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience. Preferences: 1) Demonstrated experience working in higher education, preferably with experience in academic as well as student service functions; and in positions with increasing responsibilities. 2) Experience working with faculty and supporting the work of faculty within the confines of rules and policies. 3) Higher Education teaching experience and experience developing curriculum for higher education courses. 4) Experience coordinating large scale events including the planning and delivery of such events. 5) Strong leadership qualities, oral and written communication skills, and ability to think critically.
