Biomedical Engineer Violet Ink , Oakland, CA Posted moments ago MS Visual Studio, MS SQL Management Studio, .Net, Python, C/C++/C##, SQL Contract W2, Contract Independent, Contract Corp-To-Corp, 12 Months $60 - $90 Work from home not available Travel not required Job Title: Biomedical Engineer Location: Oakland CA (Local Only) Duration: Long Term Job Description The Biomedical Engineer is responsible for executing several concurrent high visibility projects in a highvolume clinical laboratory environment that may cross multiple business divisions and clinical testing methodologies with the goal of improving the quality and effectiveness of patient care testing. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Systems Development - Work with management to define project plans and delivery schedule while focusing on ensuring timely delivery of project deliverables. Process Management and Improvement champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices in clinical laboratory testing methodologies. Leverage technology and informatics to develop and implement lean, automated laboratory processes: o Work with medical professionals such as research scientists, chemists and engineers on staff to develop lean clinical testing workflows o Evaluate, test, design and integrate into laboratory processes new clinical laboratory technologies, products and software (chemistry analyzers, liquid handlers, pre- and postanalytical laboratory automation systems, middleware software systems, etc ). Ensure successful completion of system integration, testing and validation. o Leverage medical informatics, statistics, and data analysis tools in support of complex medical decisions. QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor s degree, MS preferred, inBiomedicalor related engineering discipline (Bio-Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or Computer Science) with emphasis on bioinformatics is a necessity. Strong foundation in engineering principles (mechatronics and biomedical systems, software development, and excellent problem-solving skills. Minimum 10 years experience with systems integration,engineeringor informatics discipline. Direct experience in a clinical laboratory, IVD, or related healthcare environment considered a plus. Proven experience with Microsoft .NET or related software development technologies. Able to identify and compile system requirements from discussion with business representatives and end-users SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Strong analytical, planning, organizational and problem-solving skills. Able to execute complex projects with competing technical demands and proven ability to manage such projects ensuring objectives, goals, and commitments are met and delivered on time Excellent verbal and written communications skills and experience interacting with individuals at all corporate levels including executives. Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and building positive inter-disciplinary relationships with team members and laboratory personnel. Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using informatics software development tools such as MS Visual Studio, MS SQL Management Studio, .Net, Python, C/C++/C##, SQL or similar tools/languages. Familiar with using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, and MS Office tools Familiar with AutoCAD or similar CAD to generate facility, equipment, and work center layouts to analyze and communicate space planning relationships and constraints. Must be a highly motivated self-starter able to achieve results with minimal supervision
