Edelman Sacramento seeks a dynamic Senior Account Executive to join its growing Corporate & Public Affairs team. The Senior Account Executive will provide client service support in the areas of public affairs, stakeholder engagement, community involvement and media relations, for clients in the government, education, health, environmental, food and agricultural sectors, among others. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Demonstrate tactical and strategic knowledge of public relations and communications principles and skills * Manage multiple projects for multiple clients from concept to completion by anticipating challenges, troubleshooting problems, proposing solutions, offering client counsel, overseeing quality, and ensuring deadline and budget adherence * Provide client service administration, including preparing client status and activity reports, attending meetings and conference calls, compiling recommendations on conferences, and liaising with conference organizers on scheduling and logistics * Write, edit and proofread materials ensuring quality and consistency with appropriate writing styles * Demonstrate understanding and implementation of public engagement and social media tools * Create targeted media list, reporter backgrounders and media briefing packet for senior staff and clients. * Learn key client information, including business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers and competitors * Identify and flag industry and competitive landscape trends for both clients and account teams, from relevant media moves to major competitor announcements * Research, outline, write, edit and proofread materials, including client presentations, press materials, scripts, newsletter articles, trade features and awards * Demonstrate organizational skills, working with colleagues, vendors and support agencies and keeping project leaders apprised of status * Occasionally supervise interns and junior staff on projects * Participate in the new business process, including research, audits, preparation of proposals and support for new business pitches * Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelmans values (Relentless Pursuit of Excellence, Freedom to be Constantly Curious and Courage to do the Right Thing) and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: * At least two years of relevant experience in public relations and/or related fields including research, journalism, advertising, marketing or digital communications * Bachelors degree in a relevant field * Solid grasp of all basic public relations tools and how they are used * Solid research, writing and editing skills * Strong work ethic and dedication to consistently providing quality work to team and clients. * Perform well under pressure and be a team player PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Public Affairs experience or interest is strongly preferred
