Infrastructure is one of the fastest-growing segments of the private equity and alternatives market, with over $265 billion allocated to the asset class by institutional investors globally, and offers stable real returns to investors seeking to make long-term commitments. MIRA is the largest manager of infrastructure private equity in the world, with over $44 in equity under management in over 100 portfolio companies, as well as $5 billion in real estate, $1 billion in agriculture, and $500 million in other alternative investments. In the Americas, MIRA has over $15 billion in equity under management, with the majority being in MIRAs infrastructure funds. Recent announced investments in North America include Cleco Corporation ($4.7 billion), Goethals Bridge Replacement Project ($1.6 billion), and IMTT ($1.0 billion). MIRA currently has over $2 billion in uninvested commitments in the Americas. With more than 400 investment professionals in 27 locations globally, MIRA offers a global network of expertise to its investors as well as significant opportunity for investment professionals to gain global experience by working internationally, including in emerging markets such as Mexico, Brazil, India, China and Southeast Asia. Your role A summer internship in MIRA offers a rare opportunity to gain buy-side experience with a global leader as a member of its investment team. Summer Analysts work with both junior and senior members of the MIRA team to assess new opportunities, execute acquisitions and then build value in portfolio companies through strategic projects, careful corporate governance, and capital structure management. Unlike most summer opportunities in the financial sector, MIRAs Summer Analysts will learn to evaluate both new and existing investments from a principal perspective. Typical responsibilities include: Developing financial models to analyze investment returns, company valuations and assess strategic actions. Analyzing and executing investment and asset management strategies, including executing financial and business due diligence (e.g. industry analysis, competitive position, growth prospects) Working closely with the management teams of portfolio companies, including CEOs and CFOs, to assess and implement operational initiatives and prepare business plans. Your skills Our Summer Analysts come from diverse backgrounds including finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, and liberal arts. They are talented and ambitious individuals with a strong interest in finance, valuation (and, in particular, investment) and business strategy.
