Description
The Junior Editor internship is an unpaid internship. The intern will work with the Editor-in-Chief to coordinate annual editorial calendar, content strategy, copy editing and have an opportunity to be published. The intern must be available to meet a few times a week with Editor-in-Chief and be able to work virtually.
Requirements
- Assist with editorial projects and provide support to the Editor-in-Chief.
- Professional demeanor and work ethic
- Ability to meet deadline
- Extreme organization a must
- Provide support to management team at live events.
- Social media experience
- Writing articles for online publications
- Interviewing candidates for stories
- Proofreading both hard and electronic files, basic copy editing
- Work on special projects, as needed
- Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, English, business communications, or communication arts.
- Knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Word Press experience a must
- Experience in Web maintenance
- Excellent SEO skills
