Description

The Junior Editor internship is an unpaid internship. The intern will work with the Editor-in-Chief to coordinate annual editorial calendar, content strategy, copy editing and have an opportunity to be published. The intern must be available to meet a few times a week with Editor-in-Chief and be able to work virtually.

Requirements

  • Assist with editorial projects and provide support to the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Professional demeanor and work ethic
  • Ability to meet deadline
  • Extreme organization a must
  • Provide support to management team at live events.
  • Social media experience
  • Writing articles for online publications
  • Interviewing candidates for stories
  • Proofreading both hard and electronic files, basic copy editing
  • Work on special projects, as needed
  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, English, business communications, or communication arts.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Word Press experience a must
  • Experience in Web maintenance
  • Excellent SEO skills
