Description

We offer you the opportunity to shadow our design and production team and work closely with them to create content and oversee the magazine production process. In addition to padding your portfolio and receiving guidance and training from experts in content design, you'll experience first-hand what goes into the creation of a print publication and gain experience working within a professional atmosphere.

What Will You Be Doing?

We strive to provide as wide a variety of experiences as possible during your tenure with us, however, your primary responsibilities will be to assist the production team in collecting and organizing the various assets needed for print production and in laying out magazine content using pre-existing Adobe InDesign templates.

Other Responsibilities May Include:

· Creation of marketing flyers, infographics, social media graphics and logos.

· Depending upon skill level, we may provide you with various design projects of your own.

· Assisting the production/design department in photography acquisition.

· Communication with our clients in various capacities via phone and/or email.

· Varied administrative work related to the production of our publications.

Are There Other Benefits?

Although the internship is unpaid, interns receive hands-on work from day one and come away with both business experience and will be listed as a production/design intern on any magazine with which they assist. There is also the potential for freelance opportunities upon successful completion of internship.

We offer a flexible schedule and relaxed, personable work environment. For three months during any period of the year, interns work two to three days a week for about seven hours at a time either remote, or at our Willowbrook, Illinois office (about 45 minutes from downtown Chicago). Office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

Who Are You?

We are only looking for dedicated team members that will use this opportunity to polish their design/production skills and learn how to plan and craft content that takes into consideration all the elements needed for successful consumption. Those whom we accept and work toward this goal will emerge as more informed and talented designers/production coordinators, better prepared to enter the professional field.
