Description
We are seeking a skilled Finance/Accounting intern to join our small, forward-thinking entertainment company. In this role, you will handle a wide range of important duties as you work closely with our accounting team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure compliance with legal requirements. You will be responsible for processing accounts payable and receivable, managing invoices and tax payments, and accurately recording all day-to-day financial transactions of the company.
To be successful in this role, you should hold a Finance degree (preferably followed by accounting CPE courses) and have experience with accounting software packages, including Wave. In addition, you should have strong analytical skills and be able to compare facts and figures to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions. You should also have excellent organizational and administrative skills and be able to assist with month-end financial reports, post journal entries, and help with accounts receivable, payable, and bank statement reconciliation.
Other responsibilities include assisting with audits, performing balance sheet reconciliation, and working with the finance team on yearly forecasting efforts. You will also be responsible for managing the monthly tracking of our physical inventory. To succeed in this role, you should have a working knowledge of computer software packages, including MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word, and a strong understanding of finance and accounting principles and practices, financial markets, and banking.
This internship can be completed virtually via laptop, and you must receive academic credit for the internship through your career counseling office or designated school provider.
