We are seeking a Social Media Marketing intern to assist our team.
The candidate should have ample wide knowledge of music and artists across all genres, as well as about music events, festivals, both in the US and internationally.
Candidate must have strong research and writing skills, blogging and journalism as well as proficiency on social media marketing strategies, outlets like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and platforms like TikTok, Periscope, etc.
Responsibilities:
You will be helping our Marketing team with:
Creating events and posting on youbloom’s social media pages, as well as tagging musicians and posting a comment on venue's FB pages to promote gigs
Developing and tracking giveaways and other promotional social media contests
Coming up with marketing and promotional ideas for campaigns
Research digital marketing opportunities and trends
Assisting in the optimization of outlets like SoundCloud and YouTube
Identifying assets and writing copy for Social Media posts
Writing of press materials such as press releases and newsletters
Assisting in digital advertising planning. Interact and engage with audiences to grow online presence
Requirements:
Social Media background. Excellent written communication skills
Studying for a college major with a focus in Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations, as well as prior experience a plus. Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail programs a must. Proficiency in graphics design programs a plus
Ability to increase subscribers to the website/email list, fans on Facebook and followers on Twitter
Interest in marketing, promotions, social media, and developing technologies
Candidate should understand how to appeal to the electronic music community and its demographic, must be comfortable writing quickly and engagingly, and understand how to write concisely
Experience with blog analytics preferred
Applicants should be passionate about the music industry, as well as hard working and able to handle multiple, simultaneous projects under deadline pressure. Creativity, innovative thinking, and a self-starter attitude are encouraged.
The intern term is 3 to 6 months. This is a non-paid internship, with flexible hours (minimum of 16 hours per week) to reflect your necessary college credit requirements. If the intern could hold the position very well, we may be able to offer a more full or part-time position with compensation.
