- Somatopia (www.somatopia.com) is an online educational platform dedicated to the mind-body connection, healing trauma, and creating an embodied world.
- Our mission is to bring the new discoveries of body-based healing modalities into the mainstream of our society.

- Our world is facing an epidemic of unresolved trauma that wreaks havoc on our individual and collective well-being.
- Numerous scientific studies demonstrate the visible connection between experiencing trauma and substantive, real health consequences for individuals later in life.
- Important new discoveries in the mechanisms of trauma make it clear that the devastating effects of trauma cannot be remedied simply through cognitive mechanisms alone.
- Trauma is not simply a cognitive experience – it is a body-based experience.
- A somatic approach is needed to help us heal.

Please Note: Somatopia student internships require a minimum of 10 hours per week commitment, are unpaid, and run for a minimum of 90 days (though we do have some flexibility on that timing). We’re happy to work with your school to make sure you receive maximum credits.

Requirements
Requirements:
- We are looking for smart, motivated, fun people to work with
- Should have some interest in one of the following topics: psychology, trauma healing, psychotherapy, the mind-body connection, yoga, and/or mindfulness
- We’re a fast-moving startup, so positivity, flexibility, and a willingness to do whatever it takes, are key
- This is a fully virtual role, so you’ll need a good computer, good internet and a good place to work
- A passion for people and the future of trauma healing
