As an AmeriCorps – Healthy Minds Alliance member, you will serve as a Youth Mental Health First AidInstructor, certified to teach the 8-hour YMHFA-USA course to members of the public. Your service will also include conducting community outreach, building partnerships, marketing/promotion, participant tracking/ evaluation, developing a monthly e newsletter for training participants, organizing periodic convenings/additional training opportunities for mental health first aiders, fostering public awareness and community engagement around behavioral health/mental wellness, and potentially grant writing to support behavioral health focused activities in southern Rhode Island. Living allowance provided.

As with all Americorp positions, a $6,095 Education Award is provided (to put toward future education or student loan forbearance) upon successful completion of 1700 hours of Americorps service.Throughout this 10 month Americorp assignment, a $13,992 Stipend/Living Allowance (paid in equal installments) is provided.
