Our writers are presented with a taped interview. They are then asked to create a 600-800 word story that "pops". What makes the task interesting is finding the creativity to build a story(not generate a transcript) that will be interesting to the restaurant and foodservice professional. This publication features a print edition so candidate will have a published and printed portfolio to market their brand.

For the past 32 years, TFS-Total Food Service has published a b2b trade magazine. Our portfolio also includes a web site totalfood.com. We are so proud of the role we have played in helping new writers find their voice. Our writing interns build bylined and in-print portfolios. Most importantly, they get feedback on every piece they write so that they can grow. One of our former interns: Tyler Pager now covers the White House beat for the Washington Post.
