Myrick Marketing & Media provides marketing and publicity services primarily to the children's book publishing world. We seek an intern to assist in the development and execution of publicity plans as well as to assist with daily departmental tasks.
Duties may include researching media lists, developing media kits and targeted pitches, sending review copies and mailings, social media contributions, trade show planning and execution, and other administrative tasks.
This is a paid position of $8/hour and candidates must commit to thirty hours per week for a term of 12 weeks.
Research media for specific target marketing campaigns
Research and maintain review databases
Research, evaluate and execute awards
Contribute to blog, twitter, facebook and other social media as directed
Assist in planning and preparing for trade shows
Search for media coverage for publisher clients
Assist at library and educational conferences
Responsibilities could also include the following if it falls within the candidate's expertise:
--Book Trailer development
--Marketing materials design
--News Release writing
--Publishing industry research
--Staffing library and educational conference exhibits
Candidates with backgrounds in Marketing, Publishing, Public Relations, English, and Journalism are welcome to apply. Recent graduates and grad students will also be considered. Interns should be strong writers, creative thinkers, extremely self-motivated, and interested in pursuing a career in publishing.
