The Walk to End Alzheimers intern supports the mission of the Alzheimer's Association Cleveland Area Chapter to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected in northeast Ohio; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimers® is the worlds largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimers care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to reclaim the future for millions. The Walk to End Alzheimers intern is responsible for supporting the Walk marketing and donor stewardship efforts; as well as supporting reports and tracking

Responsibilities
On-going Responsibilities  Coordinate the logistics of pulling and printing of Weekly Walk Reports (including champions club reports, self donors, new team captains).  Research and prospect local businesses and individuals in an effort to encourage support from community partners. Make calls and follow up.  Execute national walk strategies that increase the number of online registration of walkers prior walk day.  Support pre-walk events as needed (Wrap Around Events, Networking Events, etc).  Answer participant inquiries about registration and walk day through email and phone leading up to the event.  Conduct outreach calls for large team captains and company team captains to encourage prewalk registration and fundraising efforts.  Manage projects for events and assist committee members for event prep.
Internship Projects  Assist in researching potential In-Kind Donations and entertainment for Walk day.  Assist in the execution of Wrap Around Events leading up to Walk day by coordinating materials, invites, and outreach efforts.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Detail-oriented, well-organized and accurate  Strong customer service skills to communicate with constituents and colleagues with diplomacy and professionalism  Comfort speaking on the phone  Ability to analyze information and summarize findings

QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:  Minimum three (2) years of customer service experience  Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Google Drive  Proficiency in InDesign preferred  Possesses a valid and current state driver’s license and automobile insurance. Must have reliable transportation.

TIME AND HOURS: Core office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The candidate will create a schedule of 10 hours/week. Days and hours may vary. This internship is based out of the Avon Office, located at 37309 Harvest Drive, Avon, OH
