Assembly Member Harvey Epstein is recruiting applicants for an internship with the New York State Assembly. This role is a great opportunity to see for yourself the inner workings of a government office. If your passion lies within our state government and affecting policy then we strongly recommend you apply.

We strive to be a pillar of support for our constituents in the 74th Assembly District. Our district covers the East Village, Lower East Side, Stuyvesant Town/Peter Cooper Village, Murray Hill, Tudor City, and the United Nations. Our office introduces and passes progressive legislation to move this state forward. We act as liaisons for our fellow community members, working alongside the elderly, disabled, low-income folks, and advocate for all other local community members and issues.

Our goal is to make state government accessible for all New Yorkers, demystify the State Assembly and bring more voices into important policy decisions. Through thoughtful, progressive policy, community organizing, and other forms of advocacy.

Working with constituents.
Writing constituent reports and contacting relevant agencies.
Writing memos and emails.
Helping coordinate events and meetings with the Assembly Member.
Working alongside other elected officials offices to coordinate interoffice materials.
Helping with social media.

Energetic, detail oriented, and passionate about politics or government
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel/Google Docs and Sheets.
Interns are expected to dedicate a minimum of 15 hours per week.
We welcome applications from a diverse range of learning disciplines and areas of concentration.
Successful candidates will be self-starters with excellent communication, research and applicable technical skills.
