Purpose: The IDS Intern will work alongside program staff to provide Easterseals participants with goal-directed activities and community involvement through individual and group instruction. They will support our mission to provide exceptional services to ensure that all people with disabilities or special needs and their families have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities.

Program Description: Intellectual Disabilities Services provides day programs with community-oriented opportunities and activities for adults with intellectual disabilities or developmental disabilities, designed to increase personal independence and enhance the persons quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist staff in creating and leading meaningful program activities that promote independence based on the individuals preferences and strengths
Engage participants in different activities
Participate in community activities
Data entry and case management support
Help with room set up and breakdown
Assist with lunch
Other duties as assigned

Length of Internship: The ideal candidate will be able to intern for at least 3 months for a minimum of 150 hours. We will build a schedule that best fits the interns schedule. Our programs run Monday Friday from 8:30am 3:00pm.

Support: Training for this position will be provided.

Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age

Dress Code: Business Casual

- Provide customer service in out patient health setting, helping family members, visitors, and caregivers
- Have the opportunity to plan and organize program activities such as a craft or special event.

- Prefer student with experience in healthcare delivery system
- Perform well in environment that values compassion, helpfulness, patience, and resourcefulness
