2024 Internship - Seats Design Engineer
Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Assist with the design, development and testing of aircraft components and their installations. Components may include aircraft furniture, composite panels and environmental system air ducts. Design assignments are executed under the direction of the Engineering Supervisor with an emphasis on meeting and or exceeding customer requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creates engineering drawing packages using CATIA V5 or V6.
Coordinates with internal customers as well as outside suppliers on design/development for manufacturability, cost, schedule and regulatory compliance
Write technical descriptions of subject matter pertinent to design or test requirements. Includes descriptions of supplier parts, test or seat rigging specifications, etc.
Uses technical skills and principles to develop solutions to common engineering problems.
Design and assist in the fabrication of prototypes components for testing.
Assist in the creation of test procedures and coordination of testing.
Works well in a cross-functional and diverse team environment.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other relative technical field
QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional and diplomatic demeanor
Strong sense of accountability and integrity
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Time management skills to support multiple concurrent projects
Ability to deal with change and work in a dynamic environment
Proficient in use of standard Microsoft Office programs
Experience in CATIA V5 or V6 is preferred
Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.
Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.
Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
