Job Overview
L3Harris Technologies, an agile global aerospace and defense technology innovator, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern level D to join our team in Londonderry, NH. As an intern, you will provide mechanical engineering support for new product development activities and factory support of existing products. You will work closely with our qualified team in a fast-paced environment, collaborating on projects of global scope.

Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical engineering support for new product development and factory support
- Translate product requirements into mechanical specifications and test plans
- Conduct verification testing according to the mechanical specification and test plan
- Perform design analysis and testing, ensuring design meets customer requirements
- Understand customer needs, generate test procedures, and execute tests
- Process engineering change orders (ECOs) as required
- Collaborate with mechanical designers on CAD models and part documentation
- Conduct structural analysis of aircraft modifications
- Coordinate installations and modifications of aircraft structures and systems
- Support manufacturing, assembly, and aircraft installation of designed products
- Apply principles of structural mechanics to predict internal stresses and instabilities
- Familiarity with finite element methods and fatigue and damage tolerance principles
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science Engineering, or related field
- CAD or analysis (FEA) tools exposure, and/or experience in mechanical design or analysis of electronic systems, structures, and mechanisms preferred
- Familiarity with transducer instrumentation, data collection, automation, and software programming
- Ability to generate free body diagrams, determine reaction forces, calculate internal loads, and develop shear and moment diagrams
- Working knowledge of one programming language
- Must have the ability to obtain a security clearance and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
