Job Overview

The Associate Director of Clinical Training-Psy.D. Clinical Psychology oversees the practicum experience for students in the Psy.D. Clinical Psychology program. This position acts as a liaison between the academic program administration and faculty, training sites, and students. The Associate Director reports to the Academic Department Chair.

Compensation

This opportunity is budgeted at $75,000-85,000 base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation. Responsibilities

  • Continuously develop and maintain a network of practicum sites, as well as relationships with site supervisors.
  • Engage in practicum site visits.
  • Oversee the preparation of students for entry into and/or participation in the practicum search process.
  • Manage the practicum application process.
  • Maintain relevant training manuals and process documentation.
  • Manage the flow of information regarding students' progress, as well as problems, to academic department chairs, faculty, and/or practicum sites.
  • Oversee the review of practicum evaluations and related paperwork.
  • Manage the proper storage and/or dissemination of training data, including the relevant portions of the Tevera database.
  • Manage the collection of training-related outcome data and enter data into appropriate data management platforms (e.g., spreadsheets or databases).
  • Consult on the development of new clinical training initiatives and projects.
  • Occasionally assist the Director of Clinical Training with the review of students' internship application materials.
  • Participate in the Psy.D. Clinical Psychology department meetings.
  • Participate in department-level strategic planning and budget process.
  • Attend Office of Placement and Training (OPT) meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned by department chair.

  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, needs, and demands.
  • Managing one's own time and the time of others effectively.
  • Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
  • Knowledge of local and national training and licensing requirements.
  • Understanding and ability to navigate multiple levels of program hierarchies.
  • Computer Proficiency: MS Office
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical psychology.
  • Licensed as a clinical psychologist.
  • 2-3 years of professional training experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel to site locations.
